The Context — The History
Paul addressed divisions over spiritual leaders and proper worship in Corinth. Some boasted in Apollos or Paul rather than Christ, corrupting the church's unity.
The Narrative — The Lead-Up
Paul urged imitation of him as he imitated Christ, recalling his humble founding of the church. He sent Timothy to remind them of his ways in Christ, calling them to follow his example as he followed Jesus.
