The Context — The History
Paul wrote to Ephesian Gentiles who had come from pagan backgrounds with limited expectations of the divine. The God of Israel was now revealed as able to exceed every human request and imagination through inner spiritual power.
The Narrative — The Lead-Up
Ephesians 3 is Paul's prayer that believers would grasp the dimensions of Christ's love. He bows before the Father and praises God whose power working in us far surpasses anything we could ask or conceive.
