The Context — The History
Jesus attended a wedding in Cana of Galilee with His mother and early disciples. Jewish weddings were major community events, and running out of wine brought shame on the host family.
The Narrative — The Lead-Up
When wine ran short, Mary told Jesus the problem. He responded that His hour had not yet come, yet Mary told the servants to do whatever He instructed — leading to His first miraculous sign.

Discussion
- What does Mary's instruction to servants teach about responding to Jesus?
- How do ordinary needs become settings for God's glory?
- When have you needed simply to do what Jesus says?
