The Context — The History
Jesus taught parables about the kingdom of heaven to crowds by the sea of Galilee. Parables both revealed truth to receptive hearers and concealed it from those who rejected Him.
The Narrative — The Lead-Up
Jesus explained the parable of the weeds among the wheat to His disciples. He described the enemy sowing weeds, both growing together until harvest, when the weeds would be gathered and burned — a picture of final judgment.
