The Context — The History
Joel 3 describes the Lord's judgment on the nations in the Valley of Jehoshaphat. After promising to restore Judah, God summons the nations to war against His people and prepares His warriors.

God calls the nations to battle, urging weaklings to claim strength and farmers to beat plowshares into swords. The verse reverses Isaiah's later vision of peace, showing a season of holy war and judgment.
