The Context — The History
Ezekiel 34 rebukes Israel's shepherds — leaders who fed themselves rather than the flock. God promises to search for His sheep Himself and appoint David as shepherd, pointing to messianic hope.
The Narrative — The Lead-Up
After condemning negligent leaders and promising to be the true Shepherd, God pledges blessing around His holy hill. He will send showers in season, reversing famine and desolation under failed shepherds.
