The Context — The History
After the flood, God established a covenant with Noah and all creation. In the ancient world, rainbows were natural phenomena, but here they become a public sign of divine promise. The covenant extended beyond Israel to every living creature on earth.
The Narrative — The Lead-Up
Noah's family left the ark, offered sacrifice, and received God's blessing to fill the earth again. God set his bow in the clouds as a sign that he would never again destroy all life with a flood, sealing an enduring promise with creation itself.
