The Context — The History
Psalm 37 is a wisdom psalm attributed to David, addressing the envy believers feel toward the wicked who prosper. In agrarian Israel, land, livestock, and inheritance were central to security and identity.

The psalmist urges not to fret over evildoers but to trust, do good, and dwell in the land. Delighting in the LORD comes after commands to commit one's way to God and wait patiently for His justice.
