Day 1: God is near the brokenhearted

Psalm 34:18 WEB
Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

Grief can make God feel far. The psalm says the opposite of what pain suggests.

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” Nearness is promise, not always feeling.

You do not have to tidy your sorrow before approaching God. Brokenheartedness is a place He draws close.

Practice: Tell God one honest sentence about your loss. Lord, I am crushed—come near and save. Amen.
