Day 1: The great commandments
Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the first and great commandment. A second likewise is this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'
Love can feel vague until Jesus orders it: God first, neighbor next—like yourself.
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart… You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” Neighbor-love is not optional spirituality.
Whom have you treated as optional while claiming to love God?
Practice: Name one neighbor (literal or relational) and one concrete act of love. Lord, teach me to love You and my neighbor. Amen.
