Day 1: Hope

Isaiah 9:2 WEB
The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. Those who lived in the land of the shadow of death, on them the light has shined.

Advent begins in the dark—longing for light we cannot manufacture.

“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light.” Hope is not denial of night; it is confidence that God’s light has dawned in Christ.

Where are you walking in darkness and needing light?

Practice: Light a candle (or lamp) and pray Isaiah 9:2. Lord, shine Your great light on our darkness. Amen.
