Day 1: Quick to hear, slow to speak

James 1:19-20 WEB
So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger; for the anger of man doesn't produce the righteousness of God.

Conflict accelerates tongues. James slows us down.

“Let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.” Speed usually serves pride.

In your last conflict, were you quick to hear—or quick to win?

Practice: In the next disagreement, paraphrase before you reply. Lord, make me quick to hear and slow to speak. Amen.
