Day 1: Tempted as we are
For we don’t have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need.
Shame often isolates us in temptation. Jesus draws near instead.
“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near…” Help is available at the throne.
Have you been hiding from God in the very place you need Him?
Practice: Draw near in prayer and name the temptation without polishing it. Sympathetic High Priest, give mercy and help. Amen.
