Day 1: God sees and shelters
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.”
This reading plan is pastoral Scripture study, not crisis counseling or medical care. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number. In the US and Canada, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). Reach a trusted pastor, counselor, or doctor alongside these daily readings. If someone is hurting you, God’s Word is not a chain to keep you in danger. He is a refuge.
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty… My refuge and my fortress.” Refuge means safety. Seeking help, leaving danger, and involving authorities can be acts of wisdom, not faithlessness.
Have you believed a lie that God wants you to endure abuse silently?
Practice: If unsafe, contact local emergency services or a domestic violence hotline. Tell one safe person. Most High, be my refuge. Lead me to safety. Amen.
