The Context — The History
A man brought his son with a spirit that caused seizures and threw him into fire and water. Disciples had failed to heal the boy, and religious teachers argued with them as the boy suffered.
The Narrative — The Lead-Up
Jesus lamented the faithless generation and ordered the spirit to leave. The father cried out in desperation — believing yet asking for help with unbelief — and Jesus healed the boy, teaching disciples about prayer and faith.
