The Context — The History
After feeding the five thousand, Jesus sent disciples across the Sea of Galilee while He prayed alone. Storms on the lake were common and dangerous for fishermen accustomed to the water.
The Narrative — The Lead-Up
Disciples struggled against wind and waves in the fourth watch of the night. They were terrified when they saw Jesus walking on the water, thinking He was a ghost — until He spoke: 'Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid.'
