The Context — The History
The Song of Moses in Deuteronomy 32 reviewed Israel's history and God's justice. Near the end of Moses' life, this poetic testimony warned against apostasy while declaring God's unmatched sovereignty over life, death, wound, and healing.

Moses taught Israel a song to remember God's faithfulness and their tendency to wander. In a dramatic divine speech within the song, the Lord declares that he alone is God, exercising absolute authority over life and death, and no rival can rescue from his hand.
