The Context — The History
Jesus speaks with a Samaritan woman at Jacob's well — crossing ethnic, gender, and religious barriers. Samaritans worshiped on Mount Gerizim while Jews worshiped in Jerusalem; both awaited Messiah.

After exposing her marital history and offering living water, Jesus teaches that true worship is not tied to a mountain but flows from God's nature as Spirit and from truthful encounter with him.
