The Context — The History
Hannah prayed at Shiloh where the tabernacle stood before Jerusalem's temple. Barrenness in ancient Israel carried deep shame, yet Hannah's song would echo themes later sung by Mary and the prophets.

After God answered her prayer for a son Samuel, Hannah worships with a psalm of reversal— the hungry fed, the barren blessed, the arrogant humbled. She exalts the uniqueness and holiness of Israel's God.
