The Context — The History
Paul wrote to Rome near the end of his third missionary journey, planning to visit Spain via Rome. The church included Jewish and Gentile believers with historical tensions, needing unity and hope for the mission ahead.
The Narrative — The Lead-Up
Romans 15 urges the strong to bear with the weak and welcomes Gentiles into God's people. Paul prays that the God who gives endurance and encouragement will fill believers with joy, peace, and overflowing hope.
